In the lead-up to Passover, a significant effort to combat food insecurity in New York City has seen multiple organizations, including the Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty (MetCouncil), Commonpoint Queens, and the Queens Jewish Community Council (QJCCTweets), collaborating to distribute food to those in need. Events across Queens have drawn together community members, volunteers, and elected officials, all working towards providing essential Passover food supplies to over a thousand individuals and families facing food insecurity. The distribution efforts have been praised for their organization and the vital role they play in supporting the community, especially during the holiday season. The use of state-of-the-art technology to facilitate the distribution has also been highlighted, alongside the broad support from government funders and local Jewish centers such as the Forest Hills Jewish Center. These efforts have successfully provided food to 1000 persons, 1000s of people, and thousands of needy families.
