Mayor Eric Adams has been found to have traveled on subsidized trips funded by various outside groups, according to recent financial disclosures. Despite claiming to pay his own way for trips to Latin America and Puerto Rico, documents reveal that a nonprofit and the Colombian government covered much of his travel expenses to Latin America last October. Additionally, his 2021 trip to Puerto Rico was facilitated by flying on Brock Pierce's private jet. The disclosures also indicate that Adams held an honorary post on the board of a city-funded group and traveled to international destinations subsidized by these groups. His 2022 visit to Qatar and travel expenses paid by a Mexican foundation were also highlighted.
“My dime, my time, don’t whine,” the mayor said last year about south-of-the-border travel as migrants surged into New York City. His latest financial disclosures show Colombia and a Mexican foundation paid much of the bill. — @Gregbsmithnyc @katie_honan https://t.co/hGXTiMhyVv

When Mayor Eric Adams visited Latin America last October, he told reporters "I'm paying my own way." But a financial disclosure released Monday shows that much of the trip was paid for by a nonprofit and in part by the Colombian government. https://t.co/sTOEk5vaU6
I realize this isn't the point but: "Asked by THE CITY at a press conference Monday about who paid for the trips...Levy interjected to say the quote referred to the mayor’s 2022 visit to Qatar. Adams proceeded to refer to a completely different trip." https://t.co/ZNPa1J9C1o
