Virginia Tech football has signed several new players including DL Gerard Johnson, DT Aeneas Peebles, QB Davi Belfort, WR Chanz Wiggins, and DL Deric Dandy. Peebles, a Duke transfer, is a 6-foot-1, 286-pounder and a Day 1 starter. He had 40 tackles this year. His mother's hairstyling connection helped the Hokies land him. Peebles played in the bowl game for Duke before transferring to Virginia Tech, where he had a strong performance with 4 tackles, one sack, and two QB hurries.
#Hokies DT transfer commitment Aeneas Peebles with the pressure for Duke that led to a Troy interception in the final minutes. Blue Devils kneel things out for win in the Birmingham Bowl. Peebles had four tackles, a sack and two QB hurries in the game.
Aeneas Peebles with a nice line in his final game at Duke before joining #Hokies: 4 tackles, one sack and two QB hurries. His second QB hurry led to game-sealing INT.
And Aeneas Peebles is transferring to Virginia Tech and he played in the bowl, too https://t.co/Qo9HYPpNa2
A hairstyling connection helped the #Hokies have an inside track on landing Duke DT Aeneas Peebles. On his addition, plus transfers Sam Brumfield, Kemari Copeland and Montavious Cunningham. https://t.co/GP2hCo19KG
Peebles has 40 tackles this year. The last #Hokies DT with at least 40 in a season was Ricky Walker in 2018. https://t.co/kZJPH72suU
All-ACC defensive tackle and Duke transfer Aeneas Peebles (@Ae9eas) a “natural fit” for #Hokies. And it doesn’t hurt when a recruit’s mom was hair stylist for recruiting coordinator’s wife. ⬇️ https://t.co/I1xVD3oCh0

The next signee is the QB, Davi Belfort out of Florida. Fun fact: He was born in Brazil and moved to the U.S. when he was 6. The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder accounted for 3,115 total yards and 34 touchdowns as a senior. #Hokies https://t.co/0wSnHZ8du6
The #Hokies' fourth signee is the Duke transfer, DT Aeneas Peebles. His nickname is "Fub" or "Fubby," which means short or stout, squat. Makes sense. The 6-foot-1, 286-pounder should be a Day 1 starter. "The minus plays are gonna double," Brent Pry said on VT's broadcast. https://t.co/vjRuErGo9z
Second signee is DL Gerard Johnson out of Cox High School. A 6-foot-4, 245-pounder who is a four-star prospect, No. 451 nationally. #Hokies https://t.co/AncUc7QTmu
