UConn guard Aubrey Griffin will miss the remainder of the 2023-24 season due to a torn ACL in her left knee, an injury sustained during a game against Creighton on Jan. 3. The severity of Griffin's injury was initially indicated by the Creighton team doctor's evaluation, which described her knee as 'very unstable'. UConn coach Geno Auriemma, who had been awaiting further tests, had already braced for the worst prior to the official announcement. Griffin's absence adds to the team's injury woes, as she becomes the fourth UConn player sidelined for the year with serious injuries. The team is now left with nine healthy scholarship players, including only three forwards. Griffin will have surgery at UConn Health, with further details on her condition to be provided post-operation.
