New Tulane coach Jon Sumrall was very impressive at his introductory press conference. It was going to take someone special to replace Willie Fritz, who did a great job of building the program & galvanizing the alumni & fans. In that regard, Sumrall looks like the perfect hire.
#Tulane's Jon Sumrall: "We are going to make the college football playoff and we are going to win it. We are going to sell out this stadium every time we play in it."
#Tulane president Michael Fitts: "We're excited to have coach Sumrall back here to finish what he started" as co-defensive coordinator for Wave from 2012-14.
The turnout for Jon Sumrall’s introductory press conference at Tulane today is larger than any that I can ever remember for an incoming head coach. A clear sign of renewed interest in the program that has steadily been built over the last few years.
