Tulane University's football team will be missing several key players for the upcoming Military Bowl against Virginia Tech. Quarterback Michael Pratt is opting out to prepare for the Senior Bowl, leaving the team to choose between Kai Horton or Justin Ibieta as the starting quarterback. Additionally, the team is also facing coaching changes, with the hiring of Greg Gasparato as defensive coordinator and the departure of defensive line coach Gerald Chatman, who will not be coaching in the bowl game.
#Tulane DL coach Gerald Chatman, who accepted a similar position at Florida this week, will not coach in the Military Bowl. His last day was this morning's practice. Grad assistant Peter Hontas will coach the line at the game.
On another note, #Tulane defensive line coach Gerald Chatman was at practice today. Interim coach Slade Nagle said it had not been determined whether Chatman would coach in Military Bowl after agreeing to become D-line coach at Florida earlier this week.
Source: Tulane is set to hire Greg Gasparato as defensive coordinator. He held the same role under Jon Sumrall at Troy and has been serving as Troy’s interim coach. Also spent time at Louisville, Army and Appalachian State. @mzenitz first reported.
