Freshman pitcher Teagan Kavan has been instrumental, delivering two one-hit shutouts, including the semifinal game against Stanford. Texas has outscored its two WCWS opponents 14-0. The winning run was scored in the seventh inning on a wild play at the plate involving Alyssa Washington, who reached on an error. Stanford's NiJaree Canady did not allow an earned run. Texas will face the winner of the Oklahoma-Florida game in the championship series starting Wednesday night in Oklahoma City.
