Rumors of Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops moving to Texas A&M to replace Jimbo Fisher have sparked widespread discussion. However, conflicting reports suggest Stoops is no longer a candidate. The potential move, which was speculated to involve a $76 million figure, was linked to the issue of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rights. Some analysts believe Stoops, known for his 7-5 record, would be a good fit for Texas A&M, while others expressed skepticism. Amid the uncertainty, it is reported that Stoops is expected to remain in Lexington, Kentucky.
Mark Stoops is no longer a candidate for the Texas A&M coaching job. So where do things stand now for the Aggies coaching search? Here's the latest on what The Athletic's hearing on the coaching carousel front: https://t.co/I73MXbq9VC https://t.co/I73MXbq9VC
Mark Stoops was going to be Texas A&M’s coach for about two hours. His buyout from the Aggies for those two hours is $43 million.
Let it be known for the record that news that Texas A&M would hire Mark Stoops, and then shortly thereafter would not hire Mark Stoops, broke while a late Saturday night Pac-12 game was playing, perhaps even the last one. One final #Pac12AfterDark treat. 🥲
So in the two hours it took me to drive home from Charlottesville, Mark Stoops went from definitely going to be Texas A&M’s coach to definitely *not* going to be Texas A&M’s coach. Got it.

If Texas A&M pulled back on Mark Stoops because of fan push back, it is going to regret it. Mark Stoops would do a good job in College Station.

There’s no way Texas A&M is actually hiring Mark Stoops, right? Has to be a smokescreen. You can’t pay $76 million to fire Jimbo Fisher and hire Mark Stoops.
Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops is a top target for the Texas A&M job, a source tells @TheAthletic, confirming multiple reports. Nothing has been finalized yet.

Mark Stoops is a great hire for Texas A&M. I have no idea if it will work out.
Props to Texas A&M. No better coach to keep going 7-5 than Mark Stoops
Talked Stoops-to-Texas A&M earlier today. If Mark Stoops was ever going to move, this off-season - with the changing SEC coming - had to be it. As for whether I like it for Texas A&M or not, well.... 🤦♂️https://t.co/HGO5tMUbqN
Widespread reports that Texas A&M is hiring Kentucky's Mark Stoops. If that's the case, Troy's Jon Sumrall would be a natural fit. Former Wildcats linebacker who was Stoops' AHC/LB coach & was promoted to DC just before going back to Troy.

I'm fully on board if Texas A&M hires Mark Stoops. He doesn't put up with any crap and can develop. A&M fans probably don't want to hear it, but it needs to be a developmental program instead of thinking it is a superpower.
New on @AaronTorresPod YouTube: Will a lull in games - it's time for an updated look at the Texas A&M coaching rumors. Does Mark Stoops make sense for either side? Is Ryan Day *really* in play? Plus, the one candidate people aren't talking about enough https://t.co/HGO5tMUbqN
Asked about Texas A&M rumors, Mark Stoops says he has kept his focus on this Kentucky team but does not directly address the reports he is a candidate there. https://t.co/ab3nh8xnQU
Don't know where Mark Stoops is on Texas A&M's radar. But if there was a year to leave Kentucky, it's the year before Texas/Oklahoma come to the SEC, the league goes away from divisions and a cross over game with Mississippi State every year. Just sayin.
Gameday mentions Mark Stoops as a top candidate for the Texas A&M job Not sure whether that’s true but he will definitely be asked about it in the postgame now
