Mississippi State's quarterback Will Rogers will not be playing in today's NCAA game against Arkansas, according to ESPN's Clow. Mike Wright will be starting in his place, with Chris Parson as the backup. The game started with Arkansas taking an early lead of 3-0 after a successful field goal. However, Mississippi State's offense struggled as Mike Wright's first pass was intercepted by Al Walcott. Arkansas had a chance to extend their lead with a 51-yard field goal attempt, but a delay of game penalty forced them to punt. The game is being played at Razorback Stadium.
Justin Robinson mosses Jaylon Braxton and Mississippi State converts on third down from its own 1-yard line. Back-breaking stuff just as the Arkansas crowd was starting to come to life.
Arkansas comes up short on a third down run, making it 4th and 2 from the MSU 33. Pittman elects to send out the field goal unit. Arkansas gets a delay of game to fall out of field goal range. Pittman elects to punt.
Wow. Cam Little trotted out on the field for a 51-yard FG, but there's a delay of game penalty and Arkansas punts. At least it's a good one from Fletcher, who pins MSSU at its own 2. Inexcusable, though, from the Hogs. https://t.co/eubRTXNFYr
Landon Jackson dropped back into coverage and dropped an interception. That was the spark Arkansas needed. Instead, it's a MSSU punt and the Hogs take over at their own 16 with 2:12 remaining in the half.
A pick play on 3rd down doesn't get executed, and Arkansas has to settle for a field goal despite the terrific field position. Of course, Cam Little is true and the Hogs lead 3-0 early. https://t.co/eubRTXNFYr
Mike Wright threw an interception on the second play of the Arkansas game. The Razorbacks have 12 takeaways this season, tied for the most in the SEC
Mike Wright's first pass is picked off. Arkansas' first possession starts in field goal range.
First pass from Mike Wright is intercepted by Al Walcott. Hogs in business early. Just the start they needed. https://t.co/eubRTXNFYr
Mike Wright and the Mississippi State offense take the field. About that time at Razorback Stadium. https://t.co/gY5IuryRWK
Arkansas wins the toss and defers to the second half. Mike Wright and the Mississippi State offense will get us started. https://t.co/eubRTXNFYr
For the first time in a month, here come the Hogs inside Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. https://t.co/gHTNW8qOKO
Mississippi State QB Will Rogers out today at Arkansas, source told @ActionNetworkHQ. 1st reported by @ClowESPN. Vandy transfer Mike Wright will start for the Bulldogs
As expected, no Will Rogers for MSU today, per @ClowESPN. Mike Wright will start vs Arkansas with Chris Parson now the backup. https://t.co/dYj7RcWkUD
