Florida State University's perfect football season came to an end with a blowout loss to Georgia in the Orange Bowl, with a score of 63-3. Despite their 13-0 record, the team was not selected for the College Football Playoffs, leading many players to opt out of the bowl game. This decision has sparked debates about the program's culture and the significance of non-playoff bowl games. The exclusion of an undefeated Power 5 champion from the playoffs has also raised questions about the selection process.
Imagine that...2 undefeated Power 5 conference Champions in the College Football Finals. The two 1-loss teams lost...Was there another Power 5 undefeated team that didn't even get a chance?....Yep.

Aside from the whole “leaving out an undefeated Power 5 champion with multiple nonconference wins against other P5 teams and eight wins against bowl teams” https://t.co/sNCgp2XDH3
Sadly Florida State lost, so there will be no undefeated teams outside the CFP with a National Championship claim. https://t.co/d6oDsx3yAr
FSU last 3 years: 5-7, 10-3, 13-1. Just because a lot of players opted out of a bowl doesn’t mean the program is done Just signed a good recruiting class, bringing in talent from portal. How do you not take 13-1 and ACC champs over 9-4? https://t.co/888j69P0U0
All of a sudden everybody have some to say about our program and our culture because we have guys who opted out this bowl game after going 13-0. The same guys who could’ve opted out but played in last year bowl when we was pushing for a 10 win season playing against 6-6 OU.
A 63-3 Georgia rout of a decimated Florida State was an embarrassment for college football, writes @SethWEmerson. The expanded Playoff is going to be great. It’s good for the sport. What we saw in the Orange Bowl Saturday was not ⤵️ https://t.co/Y7zUMALglu https://t.co/Vm9IF69NUD
So many FSU players elected to return this year when they didn’t have to to pursue a national title. They won all their games and were still told that wasn’t enough. You can’t convince me any program culture could survive that with an intact roster for a meaningless bowl game. https://t.co/IyW5l17en6
Definitely one way to look at it. Another way is a team went 13-0, including wins over two SEC teams & the Heisman Trophy winner, won a Power 5 conference title, and were told by the CFP Committee that none of it mattered. So some of those players decided this bowl didn't matter https://t.co/PQ6tffAICn
