Julius Randle powered the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 48-44 halftime lead over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals, scoring 20 points on 6-of-8 shooting and a playoff-career-best 5-of-6 from three-point range in just 17 minutes.

Despite connecting on only 34.9% of their field-goal attempts, the Timberwolves relied on 10 made three-pointers—half of them from Randle—to edge ahead. Anthony Edwards added 13 points and five rebounds for Minnesota.

Oklahoma City struggled to convert, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander limited to 11 points on 2-for-13 shooting, though he handed out four assists. Center Isaiah Hartenstein contributed 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting. The teams return for the second half with the series opener still in the balance.
