Justin Edwards, once a potential No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft, faced challenges at Kentucky and ultimately went undrafted. Despite this setback, analysts see potential in him due to his strong EYBL performance and lessons learned at Kentucky.
Justin Edwards joins Kelvin Torbert (2001, Michigan State) as the only RSCI T-3 recruit to declare and go undrafted since 1998. The full top eight, per Sports Reference 👇 https://t.co/O6oVevCcQM https://t.co/QYVqhlMqxW
Justin Edwards, considered a potential No. 1 pick this time last year, goes undrafted. That’s a tough pill to swallow, but I wouldn’t count him out just yet. He learned some valuable lessons last season at Kentucky. https://t.co/hCKx7Rb1HD
Former Kentucky forward Justin Edwards is the first top three recruit to go undrafted as far I can find on 247 — back to at least 2003. It’s not pulling up the 99-02 classes, but it’s been over two decades since a top three recruit didn’t get drafted.
Now that we're getting in the 20's, I'd take a Calipari Flier on Justin Edwards. So many Cal Guys have (often vastly) outperformed their draft slots + Edwards has upside markers such as strong EYBL performance, and also produced well down the stretch of the season.
While Reed Sheppard and Rob Dillingham were awesome last season for Kentucky, Justin Edwards, DJ Wagner and Aaron Bradshaw all struggled under Calipari to adjust to college game. Edwards definitely worth a flyer in second round. https://t.co/lyAZVO6q3b
This time last year, Justin Edwards was a potential No. 1 pick. Tonight, he might find himself pushed into the new Day 2 of the NBA Draft. But for Edwards, the win was just getting through a tumultuous year at Kentucky with his mental health intact. https://t.co/2psGkZYhFQ
