Kodak Black’s Swipe at NBA YoungBoy Rekindles Rap Rivalry

Kodak Black has reignited his long-running feud with NBA YoungBoy by dismissing the Louisiana rapper’s new album, “Make America Slime Again (MASA),” as “straight ass” in a series of social-media posts late Sunday. The Florida artist also brushed off calls from fans to join YoungBoy on tour, underscoring the rift between the two performers.

The clash adds another chapter to a rivalry that has periodically flared since 2020, punctuated by diss tracks and online barbs. The pair briefly appeared to reconcile during a 2023 video call, but tensions resurfaced after YoungBoy supporters amplified the “#YBBetter” meme, which Kodak said he found harassing.

YoungBoy released “MASA,” his eighth studio album, on July 4 and simultaneously announced the Make America Slime Again Tour, a 45-city U.S. run scheduled to open Sept. 1 in Dallas and wrap Nov. 12 in Seattle. Neither artist has indicated that the latest exchange will spill over into music collaborations or legal action, but the public dust-up highlights how social media continues to shape—and sometimes inflame—industry rivalries.
