The Chicago White Sox plan to recall shortstop Colson Montgomery from Triple-A Charlotte for his Major League debut during this weekend’s series against the Colorado Rockies, according to a report by Kris Norton of WITZ Radio corroborated by several baseball news outlets.

Montgomery, a former first-round draft pick and one of the organization’s highest-ranked prospects, is already on the club’s 40-man roster, so the front office will only need to clear an active-roster spot before the series opens in Denver. The White Sox had not formally announced the move as of late Thursday night.
