The Chicago White Sox are making roster moves with the addition of Robbie Grossman and Mike Clevinger. Chris Getz, the team's assistant GM, mentioned Grossman potentially joining the Major League club soon. Getz also expressed hope for Clevinger to be ready by the end of April and in a Sox uniform by May 1. Eloy Jimenez has been placed on the injured list.
#WhiteSox add Grossman to roster. https://t.co/138OuBC3Zc
Eloy lands on the IL. Grossman here from Charlotte. https://t.co/TY3DAlLTnB
Mike Clevinger is back with the Sox. So what’s that mean for the South Side rotation? For the yet-to-be-utilized fifth-starter spot? For young guys like Nick Nastrini? I took a look in my latest at @CHGO_Sports ⬇️ https://t.co/VlVvFF3BFJ
More Getz on Grossman: "... Can play multiple spots in the outfield and so he’s a guy that we are talking about right now. It’s just a matter of timing, the right timing for him to join our Major League club."
It's possible Robbie Grossman could join the White Sox within the next week, per Getz.
Expectation, Chris Getz said, is having Clevinger in Sox uniform around May 1. https://t.co/pW7XGqrq1z
Chris Getz is hopeful Mike Clevinger will be ready by the end of the month. Brad Keller is about to extend to 3 IP in his next outing in Arizona. Nick Nastrini had been dealing with an illness, so Sox not surprised his velo was down last night at Charlotte.
