Brown, who joined the Mariners this winter, was in his first season with the club. Despite leading the AL West by three games, the Mariners have struggled offensively, ranking 29th in the majors in runs per game, ahead of only the Chicago White Sox. Brown previously worked with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Miami Marlins.
