The Washington Nationals have signed 1B Lewin Diaz to a minor league deal with a spring training invite. Diaz, 27, previously played in AAA with the Orioles and in the big leagues with Miami. Additionally, the Los Angeles Angels have claimed 1B Alfonso Rivas off waivers from the Guardians. Rivas, who had a 94 wRC+ in 123 PAs last year, is viewed as a valuable addition to the Angels' roster. Furthermore, the Angels have also signed C Francisco Mejia to a minor league deal with a spring training invite. Mejia, 28, is expected to be the Angels' 3rd catcher and has a career 87 wRC+ over 355 games.
