During Wednesday's game, Nationals players Joey Gallo and Hunter Harvey experienced close calls with injuries. Gallo was hit by a pitch on the front of his left wrist but decided to stay in the game after a quick check from manager Davey Martinez. Shortly after, pitcher Hunter Harvey was struck by a Mike Yastrzemski line drive on his forearm/hand. Despite an initial attempt to remain in the game and trying to block his face, Harvey was eventually pulled out. Both players underwent X-rays, which came back negative, indicating no serious injuries. Additionally, Jesse Winker suffered what Martinez described as 'road rash' but is also considered to be in good condition.
X-rays on both Hunter Harvey and Joey Gallo’s left hands were negative, so Nationals think they dodged bullets in both cases. Jesse Winker had what Davey Martinez termed “road rash,” so guess that means he’s OK, too?

Now Hunter Harvey takes a line drive off his left forearm/hand and appears to be in some real pain. Seems like he tried to talk himself into staying in, but he's coming out now.
Yikes, Joey Gallo took that pitch off the front of his left wrist. Davey Martinez was out of the dugout immediately, but Gallo is staying in the game.
