One thing I've found surprisingly interesting in the bat data is seeing how some guys seem to have multiple swings, and others don't. Like here: Is Mike Yaz just on what he considers his A swing *all* the time. Is Cruz showing off more than one swing? --> https://t.co/oAbxNtjbca https://t.co/NflBVhWQbq
hitters' max-effort bat speeds are distributed around ~88 mph, which to me says a lot about a hitter's swing decision window and when he feels comfortable unloading on one everyone is focused on hitters and i can't help but feel there's pitch design wisdom lurking in these data https://t.co/Pc3j3zbMCC
NEW POD - Statcast bat speed metrics are here, and they are VERY fun; what players stand out on these leaderboards, for better or for worse? how much can we actually learn from these new stats? - Phillies first to 30 wins; chances to win NL East? - the Angels :( - and more! https://t.co/XdTa8xC12A

Major League Baseball is now providing data on how fast players swing the bats, which creates a whole new world of how the best hitters separate themselves from the pack, as well as the flaws inherent in looking at just the bat speed data https://t.co/HxoaY9cEIA

Interesting idea put forth by @RedsInFour but alluded to by @DerekVanRiper on the pod when we spoke of Bat Speed / Length / Square Up outliers. Here's Isaac Paredes and his 'fast swing' percentage: Is this a map of the player's A, B, and C swings? Maybe Fast Swing% superior stat. https://t.co/PJtGi0dhPi
