The New York Mets secured a hard-fought 6-5 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies in an 11-inning game on Thursday night, ending their three-game losing streak. Despite closer Edwin Díaz blowing his third save in four opportunities, the Mets managed to prevail with J.D. Martinez's RBI single in the 11th inning. Jorge López earned the win, José Alvarado took the loss, and Jake Diekman recorded the save. The Phillies, now 31-14, showed resilience by rallying twice but ultimately fell short. The Mets' record stands at 20-23, and they are set to play the Miami Marlins next. In a subsequent game, the Mets suffered a 10-9 loss to the Marlins in 10 innings, with Díaz blowing another save. Otto Lopez managed a walk-off single in the 10th inning. Díaz has expressed openness to changing roles amid his struggles, and the Mets plan to use him in less critical situations for the time being.

Can't argue the Phillies helped the Mets in a big way with mistakes but it would have been easy to lose that one after Diaz blew the save. Bader came up clutch twice. JD Martinez w/professional move-the-runner-over AB that turned into RBI single in the 11th.
The Mets tried really hard to blow another game, but the Phillies tried even harder.
Mets 6, Phillies 5 (F/11). Phillies rallied twice and had a great chance to win it in the 10th with the middle of the order. Two big Mets runs scored on wild pitches. Taijuan Walker left the game with a foot injury. The Phillies are 31-14.
