Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been voted the American League’s starting first baseman for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game, scheduled for 15 July at Truist Park in Atlanta. The 26-year-old secured roughly three-quarters of the fan vote, outpolling New York Yankees veteran Paul Goldschmidt to claim the spot.
The selection marks Guerrero’s fifth career All-Star appearance and his fourth time opening the midsummer classic. He moves more than halfway toward eclipsing the nine All-Star nods earned by his Hall of Fame father, Vladimir Guerrero Sr.
The remainder of the AL starting lineup features catcher Cal Raleigh (Seattle), second baseman Gleyber Torres (Detroit), shortstop Jacob Wilson (Oakland), third baseman José Ramírez (Cleveland), outfielders Aaron Judge (Yankees), Riley Greene (Detroit) and Javier Báez (Detroit), with Baltimore’s Ryan O’Hearn serving as designated hitter. Reserve rosters will be announced later this week.
