Diamondbacks shortstop Geraldo Perdomo has been diagnosed with a torn meniscus in his knee and will require surgery, sidelining him for an estimated period of at least a month to 4-6 weeks. In his absence, Blaze Alexander is expected to receive a significant increase in playing time. Additionally, the Diamondbacks are anticipated to promote Kevin Newman from Triple-A Reno to fill the gap. Perdomo has also been placed on the 10-day injured list as he prepares for his surgery.

Geraldo Perdomo, who tweaked his knee Wednesday, is not in the Diamondbacks lineup, but he is doing agility drills in the Truist Park outfield with the medical staff watching. Seems to be moving all right.
