Corey Seager Placed on IL by Rangers with Hamstring Strain, Dodgers' Roki Sasaki Out with Shoulder Impingement

The Texas Rangers have placed shortstop Corey Seager on the 10-day injured list due to a right hamstring strain, retroactive to May 11. Seager, a five-time All-Star, last played on May 10 against the Detroit Tigers, where he contributed significantly to the team's victory with a performance of 3 hits in 4 at-bats, including 2 home runs and 3 RBIs. This season, Seager has appeared in 26 games, batting .300 with 6 home runs and 12 RBIs. The Rangers activated C-DH Kyle Higashioka from the IL to replace Seager.

In a separate development, the Los Angeles Dodgers have placed rookie right-handed pitcher Roki Sasaki on the injured list due to a right shoulder impingement. Sasaki, who has struggled with a decline in fastball velocity this season, averaging 96 mph and occasionally dropping to the 92-93 mph range, has a 4.72 ERA over eight starts. He has recorded 24 strikeouts, allowed 18 earned runs, and issued 22 walks. The Dodgers recalled RHP J.P. Feyereisen to fill Sasaki's roster spot.
