Tyson Fury Agrees 2026 Comeback, Targets Trilogy Bout With Usyk

Tyson Fury has given a verbal commitment to end his retirement and fight again in 2026, Saudi entertainment chief Turki Alalshikh said on 2 July. Alalshikh, who stages high-profile bouts under the kingdom’s Riyadh Season banner, wrote that he had the former heavyweight champion’s “word” to box during the 2026 edition, adding: “We have a rabbit to hunt.”

Fury stepped away from the sport in February after dropping a second consecutive decision to Oleksandr Usyk, who unified the heavyweight titles in their two 2024–25 meetings. Speaking earlier on 2 July, the 35-year-old Briton repeated that a trilogy bout with Usyk is the only contest that could lure him back, insisting the fight should deliver what he called a “fair result” and ideally be staged in England.

Alalshikh’s announcement raises the prospect that any third Fury-Usyk encounter could instead land in Saudi Arabia, although no contract, venue or exact date has been confirmed. A successful return would also reopen talk of an all-British clash with Anthony Joshua, but Fury maintains his sole focus is settling the score with Usyk.
