Islamic State Khorasan (ISKP) has claimed responsibility for two separate attacks in northern Pakistan. The first attack targeted Noor Islam Nizami, a local leader of Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam (JUI-F), in Ghulam Khan village near the border with Afghanistan, resulting in his death. ISKP stated that the assassination was carried out because Nizami was part of JUI-F. The second attack was an IED explosion targeting a police patrol in Mamond tehsil of Bajaur tribal district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which resulted in the death of an officer and injuring another. These incidents highlight the ongoing violence in the region and the threat posed by ISKP, despite claims by the Taliban in December that ISKP was nearly defeated, with only 80 fighters remaining.
Taliban tommorow waiting for ISKP to strike (though, quite a few countries might get attacked). In December their media claimed ISKP was left with 80 fighters, on the verge of eclipsing. https://t.co/OrmJMifDLY
