The Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) has claimed responsibility for two separate assassinations in Afghanistan. In Latambar, Karak district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ISKP claimed the killing of a religious scholar affiliated with the Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI-F). Additionally, ISKP asserted responsibility for the assassination of Taliban commander Mullah Mohammad Hassan and his bodyguard in Shinah Pass, Dawlat Yar district, Ghor province. The killings were carried out using automatic weapons.
