Recent reports from various sources have highlighted a surge in militant activities and cross-border tensions across Pakistan and Afghanistan. In Dera Ismail Khan, more than a dozen militants attacked a joint checkpoint of police and security forces without causing any casualties or damage. In Kapisa province, Afghanistan, pro-Taliban accounts claimed that two members of an anti-Taliban resistance group were killed and another was captured during an alleged failed attack on a Taliban checkpoint. The Resistance Front in Takhar reportedly killed and wounded four Taliban members. Clashes between the Taliban and Pakistani border forces were reported in the Alishir/Tirazayi district of Khost province, near the Durand Line, allegedly triggered by the construction of new Pakistani checkposts. A heavy exchange of fire was also reported on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the Kharlachi-Dandi Patan axis, with casualties on both sides. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced that ten terrorists were killed, and three were injured in two separate engagements by security forces in North Waziristan District on 8-9 March. Additionally, an infiltration attempt by five terrorists trying to cross the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in North Waziristan was foiled, resulting in three terrorists being eliminated and two injured. At least eight Pakistani security forces personnel sustained injuries due to cross-border firing from Afghanistan in Kurram tribal district, with the number of casualties on the Afghan side remaining unknown. In a separate incident, at least two people lost their lives, and one was injured in a motorcycle explosion in Board Bazaar, Peshawar, with initial investigations suggesting the motorcycle was filled with explosives.
