The surge leaves the chipmaker less than $80 billion from the once-unthinkable $4 trillion milestone, a level that would make it the most valuable company on record ahead of Apple and Microsoft. Heavy options activity—including large bull risk-reversal trades for 2027 contracts—signalled investors are positioning for further gains as demand for the company’s artificial-intelligence processors shows little sign of cooling.

Nvidia’s advance helped propel the S&P 500 to a fresh all-time high, underscoring how concentrated enthusiasm for AI hardware continues to drive broader U.S. equity benchmarks. Flow trackers pointed to a net addition of roughly 3.5 million bullish option deltas in Nvidia alone, while the SPDR S&P 500 ETF logged the strongest positive delta of the session, reflecting upbeat sentiment heading into the U.S. holiday weekend.

Separately, Robinhood Markets notched its own milestone this week, briefly topping $100 on Wednesday before easing 3.1% a day later when it was again left out of the S&P 500. Even after the pullback, the retail-trading platform has gained about 150% year-to-date and ten-fold over the past three years, buoyed by a 30% surge since the late-June index snub. The rally has been fueled in part by the company’s push to tokenize traditional assets for European clients, a strategy executives say will merge crypto infrastructure with conventional finance.
