Institutional demand for Ethereum is accelerating, with U.S. spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds drawing about $240 million in net inflows on 11–12 June—their strongest daily haul since early February—according to data compiled by multiple ETF-tracking services. The products have now recorded inflows for 18 consecutive sessions, bringing cumulative additions since mid-May to roughly $1.2 billion and eclipsing the $164 million that entered Bitcoin ETFs on the same day.
BlackRock has been a major buyer. The asset-management giant accumulated 36,640 ETH on 12 June and has purchased about $570 million of the token during the past two weeks, filings show. Its iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) also picked up 2,681 BTC valued at roughly $278 million, leading Bitcoin ETF inflows of $288 million that day.
Derivatives markets mirror the spot appetite. Ethereum futures open interest climbed to an all-time high near $20 billion this week, Glassnode data indicate, as the cryptocurrency’s price has roughly doubled since April. Cash-margined positions alone now exceed $20 billion, underscoring rising leverage among professional traders.
Liquidity in digital-asset markets continues to expand. The combined market value of dollar-pegged stablecoins reached a record $228–250 billion, up about 17 percent so far this year, bolstering the capacity for further ETF and futures activity.
Regulators are also inching toward broadening the ETF roster. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has asked three prospective issuers of spot Solana funds to revise their filings, including details on redemption mechanics and potential staking income. Industry participants said the request suggests a decision on Solana ETFs could arrive in the coming weeks.
