Meta Platforms Inc. is facing a significant antitrust fine from the European Union over its practices related to classified ads. The Financial Times reports that EU regulators allege that Meta has been linking its Marketplace service with Facebook to dominate the classified advertising market, which has raised concerns about anti-competitive behavior. The hefty fine could amount to up to 10% of Meta's global annual revenue, and the decision is expected to be announced as early as October 2024.
