The six leading US technology companies, collectively known as the 'Silicon Six'—Amazon, Meta, Google, Netflix, Apple, and Microsoft—have been accused of avoiding nearly $278 billion in US corporation taxes over the past decade, according to reports. This tax avoidance has occurred alongside these firms receiving tax breaks and government contracts. In contrast, undocumented immigrants have contributed hundreds of billions of dollars in taxes over the last ten years, including generating an estimated $3.3 trillion in property tax revenue since 1994. However, some estimates suggest that illegal immigrants impose a net fiscal burden of approximately $150.7 billion, indicating ongoing debate over their overall economic impact.
