Jarvis Basnight, a Detroit native and a key figure on the UNLV Runnin' Rebels basketball team that reached the Final Four in 1987, has died at the age of 59. Basnight, who moved to Los Angeles for high school basketball (Los Angeles HS & LA Verbum Dei) before attending Mt Sac Junior College, was one of four junior college starters on the team, alongside Freddy Banks.
