Elsewhere, Chichiro Sumida of the Seibu Lions earned his league-leading sixth win with six shutout innings in an 8-0 victory over the Lotte Marines. Hiroshima Carp's Hiroki Tokoda threw his third shutout of the season, leading his team to a 3-0 win over the Yokohama DeNA BayStars. The loss dropped DeNA from second to fourth place in the standings.
