A recent assessment by the World Health Organization (WHO) and partners in Khan Younis, Gaza, led by WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has revealed extensive destruction to health facilities and other infrastructure. The team, which visited the area, reported that no building or road was left intact, with everything reduced to rubble and dirt. This was described as "disproportionate to anything one can imagine." During their visit, they inspected a UN warehouse, four medical centers, and eight schools, finding significant damage in all but one of these buildings. The streets of Khan Younis are also littered with unexploded ordnance, posing severe risks to civilians. Additionally, the WHO denounced that Al Shifa Hospital, the largest healthcare facility in the northern Gaza Strip, is completely destroyed.
