Documents and an internal report have highlighted a pattern of harassment by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) towards workers of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in the West Bank. The allegations include delays to medicines, abuse, and the use of UNRWA offices as firing positions. Despite these allegations, the IDF stated they support the agency's important work. Furthermore, UNRWA staff were reportedly subjected to sustained harassment and beatings at military checkpoints, and the agency's facilities were used to launch violent raids on Palestinian refugee camps. In a separate development, it was alleged that at least 12 UNRWA employees participated in Hamas's October 7 terror slaughter, leading to calls from 23 nations for the defunding of UNRWA and the filing of war crimes charges.
At least 12 of UNRWA’s employees actively participated in Hamas’s October 7 terror slaughter. These 23 nations - who have citizens being held by the terrorists - should defund @UNRWA and file war crimes charges. https://t.co/5PPY4mxLOv
According to an internal UNRWA document, its staff working in the occupied West Bank were subjected to sustained harassment and beatings at military checkpoints. The agency's facilities were also used to launch violent raids on Palestinian refugee camps https://t.co/h2GXyWWYbj

UNRWA documents I've seen describe a pattern of harassment by IDF - delays to medicines, abuse, even use of offices as firing positions and more - in West Bank IDF say they support agency's important work. report here: https://t.co/hBB0f60APq
Israel's claims that UNRWA staff participated in the October 7th attack have caused the humanitarian aid agency to lose critical funding. A recent report from UNRWA, however, says some of its staff were tortured into giving false confessions regarding alleged Hamas ties. https://t.co/ySogAR6aeI
