Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has approved a waiver of the condition requiring Casual Paid Labourers (CPLs) working in the Border Roads Organization (BRO) and General Engineering Reserve to have completed 179 working days at the time of an accident to be eligible for ex-gratia lump sum compensation. This measure is set to provide immediate financial relief to CPLs in the event of accidents during their tenure.
