India's Defence Ministry, under the leadership of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, has made significant strides in bolstering the country's defence capabilities and promoting indigenous innovation. On 5th March, Singh will inaugurate the new state-of-the-art Admin-cum-Training building of the Naval War College in Goa, named 'Chola' to honor the maritime empire of the Chola dynasty. Additionally, the Ministry has signed five major capital acquisition contracts worth ₹39,125.39 crore to enhance the Make-in-India initiative. These contracts include the procurement of nuclear-capable BrahMos missiles for the navy, amounting to 195.2 billion rupees ($2.36 billion). In a related effort to foster indigenous defence innovation, Singh will also inaugurate DefConnect 2024 on 5th March.
