Farmers across multiple states have intensified their protests against the central government, causing significant disruptions in daily life and transportation. The protests, which have been ongoing for several days, saw farmers' unions calling for a nationwide strike today to press for their longstanding demands. Major traffic jams were reported at the Ghazipur border, while in Haryana, farmers staged protests at the Kurukshetra highway and freed the Saini Majra Toll on the Ambala-Kaithal Highway for three hours to show support for the movement. BKU (Charuni) leader Gurnam Singh Charuni highlighted the active role of Haryana farmers in the agitation, including efforts to close toll booths in the state. The protests have also affected transportation, with reports of blocked borders and railway tracks, including the Shambhu border and in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, demanding the implementation of the Swaminathan Committee Report. RAF personnel have been deployed at Delhi's Singhu border as the protest enters its fifth day. Family members of the agitating farmers have joined the protests, showing solidarity at various locations, including the Punjab-Haryana Shambhu border. The disruptions have impacted daily lives, with truck drivers and daily commuters facing difficulties due to restricted movement and lack of access to essential services, notably at Delhi's ISBT Kashmere Gate due to the Delhi-Panipat bus service being affected by the blockade at the Shambhu border. The 'Delhi Chalo' march was supported by a tractor rally in Haryana's Kurukshetra. The situation at Tikri and Singhu Borders has caused truck drivers and daily commuters significant difficulties.
