During an election rally in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Opposition for engaging in 'appeasement politics' by promising reservations for Muslims, a policy included in the Samajwadi Party's 2012 manifesto. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also attacked the INDIA alliance parties, including Congress and the Samajwadi Party, for their stance on religion-based reservations. Adityanath argued that such reservations are unconstitutional and contrary to the views of BR Ambedkar. He highlighted that Congress had previously attempted to allocate reservations for Muslims through the Ranganath Misra committee in 2006. Adityanath further accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of committing a complete robbery in West Bengal.
