Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has directed Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar to take strict action against illegal pubs and demolish structures that violate building regulations. This directive follows the detention of two individuals from Mumbai for allegedly consuming drugs at a pub in Pune. Shinde emphasized his commitment to making Pune drug-free and instructed officials to target hotels and shops near colleges and schools where drugs are being sold. The Pune Municipal Corporation has already begun demolishing unauthorized constructions, including the L3 bar on FC road and the Eskobar nightclub in Baner. A total of 33 illegal pubs have been bulldozed in this crackdown, which comes in response to a viral video highlighting drug use in Pune.
