The Indian Navy has successfully conducted a rescue operation, saving 19 crew members from a fishing vessel that was hijacked by pirates off the coast of Somalia. This marks the third such intervention by the Indian Navy in the same week, indicating a rise in piracy activities in the region. The crew, consisting of Iranian and Pakistani nationals, were aboard the Fishing Vessel FV Omari when it was targeted by pirates. The Indian Naval Remote Piloted Aircraft (RPA) was conducting surveillance in the area and located the FV Omari on January 31st. Following this, the INS Sharda, which was on an anti-piracy mission, was diverted to intercept the boat and carry out the rescue.
