The Indian Coast Guard has been involved in multiple rescue operations across Indian waters, saving lives and coordinating with neighboring countries. On March 6, 19 Tamil Nadu fishermen, arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy for crossing the border, were released and reached Chennai airport on April 4. The fishermen hailed from Mayiladuthurai, Pudukottai, and Karaikal, Puducherry. In another incident on April 3, the Coast Guard evacuated a critically injured 37-year-old from the fishing boat Pushkar Raj, 50 Km from the Gulf of Khambat coast. Additionally, on April 4, eight fishermen were saved 95 NM off Chennai, with a search ongoing for the missing crew. The Coast Guard also rescued 27 Bangladeshi fishermen adrift near the Indo-Bangladesh International Maritime Boundary Line due to a machinery breakdown on April 4 and handed them over to the Bangladesh Coast Guard. Furthermore, on April 5, a Sri Lankan fisherman with a heart condition was evacuated after his boat drifted into Indian waters. In a separate event on April 5, the Coast Guard Ship Veera rescued nine fishermen with severe burn injuries from the fishing boat Durga Bhavani, 65 nautical miles from Visakhapatnam.
