In anticipation of the Holi festival, authorities across various Indian cities have implemented stringent measures to ensure public safety and orderly celebrations. Hyderabad, Lucknow, and Noida have announced a ban on the sale of liquor, beer, toddy, and cannabis on March 25, the day of Holi, as stated by Lucknow DM Surya Pal Gangwar. The Director General of Police in Haryana, Shatrujeet Kapur, has issued comprehensive directives to district police officers to prioritize public safety and harmonious celebrations. Similarly, Delhi Police, with the involvement of Delhi Traffic Police, is set to deploy special teams to crack down on drunken driving and red-light jumping. Additionally, more than 150 mobile police stations and over 100 checking points will be monitored with drones in Ujjain to oversee security arrangements, according to Ujjain SP Pradeep Sharma. Police forces, including the Central Armed Police Forces and local police in Tamil Nadu and Bihar, have conducted flag marches in various districts to maintain order during the festival.
