The Indian government has empowered states and Union Territories to use sections 7 and 8 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, against the banned Jammu Kashmir National Front (JKNF), declared an unlawful entity by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. Concurrently, security forces in Srinagar, in coordination with the police, have dismantled a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terror module, resulting in the arrest of four terrorist associates and the recovery of a significant cache of arms and ammunition. An investigation is underway to further dismantle terrorist networks in the region.
