The Indian Government has launched 'Bharat Rice' at a subsidized rate of Rs. 29 per kilogram to make it more affordable for consumers, while ensuring quality with affordability. The rice is available in 5 kg and 10 kg packs at physical and mobile outlets of Kendriya Bhandar, National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED), and National Cooperative Consumers' Federation of India (NCCF). The initiative was announced by the Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Piyush Goyal, in New Delhi. This move is part of the government's effort to provide essential commodities directly to consumers at reduced prices.
