India Imposes Blackouts Across Multiple Border Areas Amid Pakistani Drone Incursions After PM Modi's Address

Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated with multiple drone incursions reported along the northwestern border regions, including Jammu, Punjab, and Rajasthan. Following the breakdown of a military ceasefire, Pakistani drone activity was observed in several locations such as Pathankot, Samba, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Kathua, and Sunderbani. In response, Indian authorities imposed precautionary blackouts in border districts including Barmer, Jaisalmer, Sri Ganganagar, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, and parts of Punjab to mitigate risks and enhance security. Sirens were sounded in multiple areas, and Indian air defenses intercepted Pakistani drones, with reports of red streaks and explosions in Samba.

The Indian military confirmed the neutralization of armed Pakistani drones, and the Border Security Force (BSF) fired 50 to 60 rounds to repel drone attacks. These incidents occurred shortly after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address to the nation, where he vowed zero tolerance for terrorism. The blackout measures were described by local officials as a precautionary step to ensure public safety amid ongoing hostilities. Flight services were also disrupted due to blackout protocols. The situation remains fluid, with continued vigilance by Indian forces under Operation Sindoor.
