India Hits Nine Terror Targets at 1:44 am, Kills 10-14 of Masood Azhar's Family in Bahawalpur

India launched missile strikes under 'Operation Sindoor' at 1:44 am, targeting nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, including the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) stronghold in Bahawalpur, Punjab province. A total of 24 precision missiles were used in the operation.

The strikes were conducted in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in 26 fatalities. Indian officials stated that the operation aimed to dismantle terrorist infrastructure and prevent further cross-border attacks, with at least 70 militants reportedly killed across all targeted sites.

According to statements from Maulana Masood Azhar, chief of JeM, and multiple media reports, between 10 and 14 members of Azhar's family, including his wife, elder sister, her husband, nephew, niece, and several children, were killed in the Bahawalpur strike. Four close associates were also reported killed. Most casualties were women and children.

The targeted site included the Markaz Subhan Allah (Jamia Masjid Subhan Allah) complex, which served as a JeM operational hub. Funeral arrangements for the deceased, scheduled for 4PM, were reported to be underway in Bahawalpur, with Pakistani military officers present at the funeral.

Colonel Sophia Qureshi, at an official briefing, emphasized that the strikes were measured, proportionate, and focused on dismantling terrorist infrastructure.
