U.S. President Donald Trump claimed to have brokered a ceasefire between India and Pakistan through trade discussions, a statement that has been firmly denied by India's Minister of External Affairs, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar. Jaishankar clarified that the ceasefire was a bilateral decision made exclusively by India and Pakistan without any third-party mediation, including from the United States. While Washington did make some calls during the de-escalation process, it did not play a decisive role.
