In West Bengal's South 24 Parganas, an incident occurred during voting where a local mob looted reserve EVMs and papers from a Sector Officer near Benimadhavpur FP school at 129-Kultali AC of 19-Jaynagar (SC) PC. The mob threw one Control Unit (CU), one Ballot Unit (BU), and two VVPAT machines into a pond, where they were seen floating in water. The West Bengal Chief Electoral Office confirmed the incident, which happened at 6:40 am. An FIR has been filed regarding the matter.
