The Election Commission of India (ECI), led by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar and Election Commissioner Arun Goel, arrived in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, for a multi-day visit to review the preparedness for the upcoming 2024 general and state assembly elections. Over the next two days, the team, along with senior officers, will assess the state's readiness, conducting meetings with district officers and senior police officials. Chief Electoral Officer of Andhra Pradesh, Mukesh Kumar Meena, also held a review meeting via video conference regarding election preparations. In a press conference, Rajiv Kumar highlighted the Commission's efforts to make electoral rolls more inclusive, mentioning the enrollment of 3,380 third-gender voters. He assured that preparations for the 2024 Parliamentary and state Assembly elections are almost complete, with webcasting arrangements planned for 22,685 out of 37,809 polling stations in Odisha. Additionally, Kumar stated that the ECI would publish all details of donors and receivers of Electoral Bonds within the Supreme Court's deadline, adhering to its directions.
